Man forces girl to get inside a cab in Delhi: Here is what really happened [Video]

A video of a man forcing a woman and throwing her to get inside a cab became viral on the Internet during the weekend. The incident happened on a busy road near the Mangolpuri flyover in Delhi. A fellow motorist took the video which became viral on the Internet. After taking cognizance of the incident, Delhi Police have tracked down the vehicle and its driver.

After the video became viral, Delhi Police sent a team of personnel to Gurugram’s Ratan Vihar. The driver told the real story of the incident and the occupants spotted in the video.

At first, the video shows a man thrashing a woman in the middle of the road amidst slow-moving traffic. He later forcibly throws the woman inside the car in the rear seat and then goes and sits in the front seat of the vehicle. Another man in a black t-shirt sits in the rear seat alongside the woman.

The police gave an update on the matter on Sunday and said that the two boys and the girl are friends. They booked the Uber cab from Rohini to Vikaspuri. However, a scuffle on an old matter broke out between them on the way. After the heated argument inside the cab, the woman wanted to leave the vehicle.

However, the two men forced her to sit inside the cab. Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal shared a tweet saying, “Taking cognisance of this viral video of a woman being forced into a vehicle and beaten up, I am issuing a notice to the Delhi Police. The commission will ensure strict action against these people,

The Delhi Police also said that the incident happened at around 10 PM on Sunday. Soon after that, they started investigating the matter. The number of the cab was flashed on all Police Control Room (PCR) calls and an alert for a search operation was made for Delhi and neighbouring areas. The taxi was registered to Shailender as per Harendera K. Singh, DCP Outer.

Further, the DCP added, “Woman and her two friends had argument on personal issues which took form of physical assault. Woman got out of taxi but was forced to sit back in again by her friends. Since matter got heated, driver asked them to get off taxi. On basis of payment done via Paytm and number used to book car, they were contacted,”

The police have recorded the statements of all the three involved in the incident. Police also added the statement of the woman was recorded with a counsellor and medical assistance has also been provided to her. Upon the statement of the woman, further actions will be taken.
