He first shows a Maruti Suzuki Gypsy SUV and a Mahindra Bolero Pickup SUV both hanging off the edge of the main road on which the avalanche occurred. Next, he states that they are first trying to secure the Bolero as dislodging the Gypsy can cause the Bolero to fall off the road. Another video shared from the same location showed the entire main road blocked with snow.

In this particular case, not one but a total of three Maruti Suzuki Gypsys were seen suffering from damages due to the avalanche. It was noted that one of the Gypsy’s rear ends got stuck under snow and because of it, the SUV’s rear suspension was damaged, and its entire rear soft-top section was filled with snow.

This same video also showed the same Gypsy and Mahindra Bolero pickup. However, it also highlighted that between these two vehicles there was another Maruti Suzuki Gypsy SUV which got completely engulfed in snow after the heavy avalanche.

For those who are planning their trips to snowy mountain roads with their cars, know what to do in a situation of an avalanche. First of all, you have to understand that driving during an avalanche requires caution and preparation.

The most crucial thing is to stay informed about weather conditions and avalanche warnings in the area you plan to drive through. If there’s a risk of avalanches, it’s advisable to avoid the route altogether if possible.

However, if you must drive, maintain a slow and steady pace, especially on steep or winding roads prone to avalanches. Keep a safe distance from other vehicles, as sudden stops or collisions can trigger avalanches.

If you’re driving on snowy mountain roads and encounter an avalanche, it is extremely essential for you to think quickly, and act decisively to survive.

First and foremost, try to maintain control of your vehicle and steer it towards the side of the road, away from the path of the avalanche if possible. If you can’t escape its path, abandon your vehicle immediately and seek refuge on foot.

Move quickly to higher ground. Most preferably you should go towards the uphill side of the slope, as avalanches typically flow downhill. Following this, try to remain calm and try to contact emergency services to inform them of the situation and wait for their arrival to be rescued.
