We have said this many times in the past that electric is probably the future of mobility. Many vehicle manufacturers have now started considering electric vehicles. While some are working on it, many have already launched it. Even celebrities have started opting for electric vehicles and one of the recent movie actress to buy an electric car is Malayalam actress Manju Warrier. The actress has bought a brand new Mini Cooper SE hatchback. Not only did she but a brand new Mini Cooper SE but, she got it custom painted as well. This is probably the first ever custom painted Mini Cooper SE in India.
The images of Manju Warrier with her brand new Mini Cooper SE have already surfaced online. She got he car custom painted from Calgary Auto Detailer hub from Kochi. The original paint of Manju Warrier’s Mini Cooper SE was Midnight Black Metal. She got the car painted in yellow and Black dual tone. The car looks sporty in the dual tone shade. Mini Cooper SE was unveiled last year and the official launch of the model in India was done in February this year. The Mini Cooper SE is priced at Rs 47.20 lakh, ex-showroom and is being sold as a CBU unit.
Only 30 units of Mini Cooper SE were only allotted to India in the first batch and Manju Warrier is probably one of the first celebrities to own the electric version of Mini Cooper in India. The Mini Cooper SE is available in one variant and all the units that were allotted to India have already been sold out. The Mini Cooper SE seen here in the pictures is actually the facelifted version. The overall design of the Cooper SE is similar to the ICE version. The car however gets a closed front grille, redesigned bumper, alloy wheels with yellow accents that are designed specifically for the electric version. The wheels are designed in a manner that they look like a plus socket.

The car gets Mini’s signature round LED headlamps, Union Jack-themed LED tail lamps as well. The interiors on the Mini Cooper SE is similar to the regular version. It however gets a new 5.5 inch fully digital instrument cluster. It gets a toggle switch to control the brake-regeneration level. Just like the exterior, interiors also get Yellow accents. Mini Cooper gets features like a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon audio system, Nappa leather steering wheel, TPMS, panoramic sunroof and so on.
Mini Cooper SE draws power from an electric motor that generates 184 Ps and 270 Nm of peak torque. The car gets a 32.6 kWh battery pack mounted under the co-passenger seat. The electric motor sends power to the front wheel and the car can do 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds. It has a certified driving range of 270 kms and top-speed of 150 kmph and comes with Mid, Sport, Green and Green+ drive modes. Mini Cooper supports fast charging like many modern day electric vehicles. It can charge the batteries from 0-80 percent in just 36 minutes using a 50 kW charger. The 11 Kw hour normal charger will take 2.5 to 3.5 hours to recharge the car.
