Maruti recently launched the 2022 Baleno in the Indian market. Soon after them, Toyota launched their version of the Glanza which also got a facelift just like the Baleno. Many people are wondering what all differences are there in both the vehicles. We, here is a video that gives us a detailed look at the differences between the Glanza and the Baleno.
The video is uploaded on YouTube by MRD Cars. In the video, there is the Alpha variant of the Baleno and Glanza’s V variant. So, both are top-end variants. Glanza is finished in Sportin Red while the Baleno is finished in Grandeur Grey.
The first thing that the host checks out is the front look. The headlamps design is the same for both the hatchbacks but the LED Daytime Running Lamps are different. Both of them do come with an LED projector setup. Glanza comes with a strip-like LED Daytime Running Lamp and a front-end design inspired by Camry. The bumper is also a lot more aggressive because of the horns made out of plastic cladding and mesh grille. There is also a chrome surround for the fog lamps. The Baleno’s front-end design looks more like an evolution of the pre-facelift Baleno. It does come with a new grille and bumper but they are not significantly different from the previous Baleno. However, Baleno’s headlamps do get three doors for the LED Daytime Running Lamp. Overall, the Glanza looks sportier and more aggressive.
On the side, the only difference between the hatchbacks is the design of the alloy wheels. Baleno has curvier looking diamond-cut alloy wheels whereas Glanza’s diamond-cut alloy wheels look sharper. The size of the alloy wheels and tyres are the same. The rear is also the same for both the hatchbacks, there are no differences except the badging.
Then the host climbs into the interior. Baleno’s interior is finished in a blue and black theme with silver inserts. Glanza on the other hand gets a black and beige theme with piano-black inserts. Because of the lighter theme, Glanza’s interior looks airier and gives an up-market feel to the cabin. The same black and beige theme has also been applied to the seats also.
The rest of the interior stays the same. So, the flat-bottom steering wheel, instrument cluster, automatic climate control console, infotainment system, AC vents etc. are the same in both the hatchbacks. The feature list also stays the same. So, the highlighting features of both the vehicles are the 360-degree parking camera and heads-up display. Other features include cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, multi-function steering wheel, multi-information display, push button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry, armrest and much more.
The prices of Baleno starts from 6.35 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 9.49 lakhs ex-showroom. Glanza’s prices start from Rs. 6.39 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 9.69 lakhs ex-showroom. So, there is not a lot of difference between both the vehicles. For the additional money also get a longer 3-year/1,00,000km warranty as standard with the Glanza.
