Maruti Suzuki has started working on a new generation of the Baleno. The premium hatchback will not get a facelift, instead, it will be an all-new generation. So, expect a lot of changes to the exterior design and some major changes to the interior as well. Here, we have the front and rear renders of the 2022 Baleno.
The renders are done by SRK Designs and the videos are uploaded on YouTube by him. The artist has made the renders based on the spy shots that have been clicked. It is important to note that these are only the imagination of the artist and the final product from Maruti Suzuki will end up looking different.

We can see that the front design is now a lot more aggressive. There is an all-new bumper and grille. The headlamps are now more angular that making the hatchback look more aggressive. The headlamps are still using LED projectors and come with redesigned LED Daytime Running Lamps which is a good thing. The fog lamp housing is also all-new and there is a chrome strip that runs throughout the width of the bumper. There is also a small faux skid plate in the centre of the redesigned bumper.
Then we come to the rear of the render. It now looks more premium and up-market. The tailgate itself is now narrower, which might be an issue because the opening will be smaller and you would have to adjust the way you load in big bags. It still gets a chrome strip that sits right below the rear glass. There is also a rear wiper with a washer, a high mounted stop lamp and a shark fin antenna. The rear bumper has also been slightly redesigned and now looks cleaner. The major redesign is in terms of new LED tail lamps. The render uses a C-shaped LED tail lamp with the turn indicator and reverse light sitting in the centre.
Maruti Suzuki will also make changes to the interior of the Baleno. We can expect newly redesigned upholstery and a revised dashboard design. There will also be a new infotainment system which will be running on a new user interface and will also be larger. Moreover, it will also come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. We were also expecting a new digital instrument cluster but in the spy shots of the interior, there was a redesigned analogue instrument cluster with a digital multi-information display.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the 2022 Baleno with the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. It comes with a DualJet configuration which means that there are two injectors per cylinder instead of one. So, the fueling is more precise and there is also an idle start/stop system. The engine produces 90 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It also gets SHVS mild-hybrid technology that provides torque-assist at low speeds.
