Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2019 version of the premium hatchback, Baleno. It is the best-selling premium hatchback in India and competes with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz. The price starts at Rs.5.45 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2019 Baleno is available in 11 variants and the top-end version costs Rs. 8.77 lakhs.

The 2019 Baleno is a mid-cycle update for the car. The new Baleno offers a range of features and has been updated with the new looks. The car gets a new, updated front-end. The bumper has been updated with larger foglamp housings and a larger air dam. Even the grille of the new Baleno has been updated and it now gets a 3D detailing. Maruti Suzuki has also added two-tone smoked 16-inch alloy wheels to the top-end version of the car.

Even the interiors of the all-new Baleno have been updated. It now gets new seat fabric, which is finished in two-tone black and navy blue. The touchscreen audio system has been updated too and it now gets the “SmartPlay Studio” UI, which first launched with the Maruti Suzuki all-new WagonR. It also gets the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, unlike the Maruti Suzuki WagonR’s infotainment system.
Apart from these visual changes, Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s engine and transmission remain untouched. The 2019 Baleno remains powered by the same set of 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine options. The four-cylinder petrol engine produces a maximum power of 82 Bhp and 115 Nm. The 1.3-litre diesel engine produces a maximum power of 74 Bhp and 190 Nm. The petrol engine gets CVT automatic transmission as an option but the diesel engine option only gets a manual 5-speed transmission.
The Baleno also gets a number of standard features. It includes ABS+EBD, dual airbags, brake assist, pre-tensioner and force limiter seat belts, front seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child seat restraint system, speed alert system and rear parking sensors are standard across the variants of the Baleno.
