Baleno Facelift Walkaround Featured

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the new facelift version of their popular Baleno premium hatchback. The new model gets a lot of subtle touches here and there to make it fresh. Both the interiors and the exteriors of the car have been tweaked and the car looks quite good now. However, the mechanical bits haven’t been touched and they remain the same.

Below is a video by Car Director which shows the new facelifted Baleno in real world. Let’s now checkout the video before going into further details of the car.

The new Baleno facelift has been priced at Rs.5.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant. The car is available in 11 variants and the top-end version costs Rs. 8.77 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Talking bout the changes made on the exteriors of the car, the new Baleno gets a updated front fascia. The bumper now houses larger foglamp enclosures. A larger than previous model air dam is also present on the car. The grille of the new Baleno has been updated and it now gets a 3D detailing in a flowing pattern. Maruti Suzuki has also added two-tone smoked 16-inch alloy wheels to the top-end version of the car, which further enhances the overall appeal of the car.

Apart from the exteriors, the interiors have also been updated and now fell fresher. The new Baleno gets new seat fabric finished in two-tone black and navy blue shade. The touchscreen audio system has been updated too and it now gets the “SmartPlay Studio” UI, which first launched with the Maruti Suzuki all-new WagonR. It also gets the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, unlike the Maruti Suzuki WagonR’s infotainment system. The overall ambiance is the same as in the previous model of the car but the small tweaks have made the interior feel fresher.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s engine and transmission haven’t been tinkered with. The 2019 Baleno is still powered by the same set of 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine options. The four-cylinder petrol engine produces 82 Bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. The 1.3-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 74 Bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. The petrol engine gets CVT automatic transmission as an option but the diesel engine option makes do with only a manual 5-speed transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno sits in the premium hatchback segment. It is rivaled by the likes if Hyundai Elite i20 and the Honda Jazz among others. However, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the best selling car in its segment and even gives a tough fight to cars below its segement in terms of monthly sales figures. With the new mid-life facelift, Maruti has further strengthened its prospects in a segment which is slowly becoming very popular among the masses.
