2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be launched in the market soon. Maruti has already started taking official bookings at Rs. 11,000 across the Nexa dealerships in India. The price of the updated car is expected to be announced by the end of this month while the deliveries are expected to begin in early February.
While the looks of the facelifted Baleno have been officially teased, here is something exclusive that shows the new changes and features of the hatchback. According to the leaked document, the Baleno facelift will get new front bumper, a new grille with 3D graphic design, LED projector headlamps, distinct fog lamp garnish, precision cut alloy wheels, new SmartPlay Infotainment system, new black and blue interiors, new refreshed interior ornamentation.
All the changes in the 2019 Baleno are only visual. Mechanically it remains exactly the same as the current version of the car. The 2019 Baleno gets a more aggressive bumper with larger fog lamp housings. It adds a very sporty look to the car. The grille has been updated and it now gets a 3-dimensional look to it. The top-end of the 2019 Baleno gets LED projector lamps, which has become in most of the new Maruti Suzuki products. The alloy wheel design has also become aggressive. These are new machined alloy wheels, which Maruti Suzuki calls Precision Cut alloys.
On the inside, the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be thoroughly updated too. To start with, there will be new dual-tone fabric on the seats. It is expected to be available only with the top-end version of the Baleno. Other updates are in the form of the central console of the car. The SmartPlay infotainment system has been updated. The current model comes with the Nippon infotainment system while the 2019 Baleno will get the system from Harman. Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which was launched earlier this week became the first car to get the new-generation infotainment system. It comes with redesigned User Interface, which is much more simpler to use and looks more premium. The central console has also been updated and now there is a circular screen for the AC temperature in the middle and all the buttons around it have been updated.
With the upcoming safety rules in the Indian market, the all-new Baleno will also get additional standard features. It will now get the speed alert system, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and rear parking assistance sensors as standard across all the models.
The 2019 Baleno will remain powered by the same engine options as the current ones. There is a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 82 Bhp and 115 Nm and a 1.3-litre diesel that produces a maximum power of 74 Bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the petrol and diesel engines offer a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. There is also an automatic CVT gearbox available with the petrol variants of the Baleno.
