Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 have the highest waiting times: Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz have the lowest

The premium hatchback segment is one of the top sales gatherers for manufacturers like Marut Suzuki and Hyundai Elite i20. The latter has even been the best selling vehicle for Hyundai several times last year. Other cars in this segment include the recently launched Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo, and the Honda Jazz. So if you have been planning to buy a premium hatchback anytime soon, here is a list of waiting periods in 15 cities across India by CarDekho that will help you choose your new car accordingly.

As seen in the list here, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno commands the highest waiting period amongst all the cars here. Do note that the waiting period for the cars here is only an approximation as it could vary depending on the variant, powertrain options and colour among other factors. Coming to the Baleno, the hatchback has a waiting period of up to six weeks in Hyderabad and Kolkata while in other cities like Chandigarh, Lucknow, Noida, Patna, Mumbai and Jaipur, the car has a waiting period of four weeks. There is no waiting period on the Baleno in cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Indore.

Talking about the Hyundai Elite i20, the maximum waiting period on the hatchback is up to four weeks in Gurugram. In other cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Indore, the Elite i20 is available without any waiting period. The Volkswagen Polo, on the other hand, has an even lower waiting period of 1 month in Mumbai while other in other cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Kolkata, the waiting period is around 15 days.

The recently launched Toyota Glanza is readily available in cities like Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Patna and Indore. The highest waiting period goes upto 2 months in Chennai while most other cities have waiting periods ranging 3 weeks to 1 month. Coming to the Honda Jazz, the car can be had almost instantly in cities like Gurugram, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata and Chandigarh. The maximum waiting period on the Jazz is 2 weeks and the car can be had under that in most cities.
