Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatch in India, the Baleno is quite a hit among the masses. The car has an average monthly sale record of around 17,000 units and it rivals the likes of Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. It is also quite popular among modifiers and there are various good examples of it present in our country, with one particular example even sporting scissor doors.
From the heap of modified cars present in India now, here is another modified Baleno that has been done quite beautifully. Let’s take a look at this video by Harsh VLOGS which showcases a modified Baleno with all the details.
Gorgeous, ain’t it. What sets this Baleno apart from the others is its unique colour shifting wrap, which looks quite cool and distinctive. It has been done by the owner of the car himself, who actually owns a tuning shop which goes by the name of JS Wraps. As per the video, this particular wrap job costed about Rs. 35,000 to be done. It instantly makes the car stand apart from the crowd of Baleno’s plying on our roads currently. Let’s now get onto the other details of the car.
In the video, it is claimed the total work done on the car till date costs about Rs. 3 lakh, which is quite a sum to say the least. It is the top Alpha variant of the Baleno and has been further souped up with all sort of mods, taking the total cost of the car to well above Rs. 10 lakh. The headlamps and the foglamps have been both replaced with custom units. Then there is a ultra powerful music system present in the car which costed around Rs. 70,000 according to the owner. The rear tail light too is blacked out. In fact, all the chrome elements present on the exterior of the bike have been blacked out to go with the overall look of the car.
The big chrome bar below the rear glass of the Baleno has been now given a unique carbon fibre finish. The rear also features a custom diffuser complete with four tail pipes. Another distinguishing feature of the Baleno here are its beautiful tires and rims.
The 17 inch low profile tires are shod onto attractive looking multi spoke rims. Tire stickers bearing the owners shop name are visible on the sidewall. The front disc calipers as well as the rear tire drums have been painted in red to give them a racy look.
The owner now further plans to give his car a major overhaul in future. This includes a new custom wrapping along with a custom sports kit for the car. However, the car looks gorgeous even now and with those sexy tires, attractive wrapping and powerful music system. Definitely a thumbs up from us.
The Maruti Baleno sold in India is available with three engine options – a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol with 82 Bhp-113 Nm, a 1 liter turbocharged petrol with 101 Bhp-150 Nm and a 1.3 liter Fiat Mutijet turbodiesel with 74 Bhp-190 Nm. While all engines get 5 speed manual gearboxes as standard, the 1.2 liter motor gets a CVT automatic option.
The Maruti Baleno will soon get a mid life facelift. Clear, undisguised spyshots of the facelifted Baleno have already hit the interweb, and the car will go on sale in the next few weeks. The facelifted Baleno is expected to get a minor stylistic makeover and a few new features. In 2020, the car is also expected to get a new, 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine.
