Maruti Brezza AMT gets a new TVC [Video]

Last month, Maruti Suzuki launched an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) option on the best-selling Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The sub-4 meter, diesel-only SUV has witnessed stiff competition in the past few months with Ford updating the EcoSport with a facelift, and Tata launching the Nexon. Recently, Tata introduced AMT options in the petrol and diesel variants of the Nexon, prompting Maruti to fight back with the AMT variants of the Vitara Brezza. Here is a brand new TVC that Maruti Suzuki has created in order to build a buzz around the Vitara Brezza AMT. The TVC stars Elli Avram, an actress most popular for her item numbers in Bollywood.

The Vitara Brezza is Maruti’s first compact SUV for the Indian market. Launched in 2016, the Vitara Brezza became an instant superhit thanks to its overall competency in almost every department, from ride quality to ground clearance, from fuel efficiency to reliability. A diesel-only SUV, the front-wheel driven, sub-4 meter Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel motor with 89 Bhp-200 Nm. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual unit. The recently introduced AMT option automates the functioning of this manual gearbox, and eliminates the manual clutch.

The Vitara Brezza is yet to get a petrol engine, and this is currently the only handicap that this best seller faces. Despite Maruti not offering a petrol engine on the Brezza, sales have been very strong. In fact, the Brezza consistently tops 10,000 monthly units. Adding a petrol engine will only make the compact SUV even more attractive. Maruti is said to be considering a turbocharged petrol engine for the Vitara Brezza. This engine will be same unit as the one on the Baleno RS. The motor is a 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged unit with 99 Bhp-150 Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox comes standard with this petrol engine. Maruti is yet to announce the timeline for the Brezza Petrol’s launch in India.
