Why the Brezza is better than the Hyundai Venue SUV, according to Maruti Suzuki!

The Hyundai Venue was finally launched in the Indian market after a long wait. The all-new Hyundai Venue is already becoming quite popular in the market and it directly takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300. The Venue is already gaining quite a popularity and has officially received more than 20,000 bookings. However, does the top-selling car in the segment – Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has more advantages over the Hyundai Venue? Well, here is a list of advantages that the Brezza offers over the Hyundai Venue, according to Maruti Suzuki.

Bigger dimensions

 

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza bigger dimension than the Hyundai Venue. Comparing the dimensions, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers 1,640mm of height while the Hyundai Venue offers only 1,605mm of height. The difference in 35mm is quite a lot. Also, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is much wider at 1,790mm while the Hyundai Venue’s width is 1,770mm.

Bigger dimensions translate into an intimidating look on the road and enough space in the interior. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza also offers a higher ground clearance of 198mm while the Venue offers 190mm of ground clearance.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers five options of mood light that changes the mood of the cabin instantly. The hidden ambient light can change the colour and there are five soothing options to choose from. Also, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers light in the footwell areas, which is missing from the Venue. This is quite helpful during the night and can be used to find things easily that fall in that area. Also, it makes the cabin feel much richer.

Better fuel efficiency

Maruti Suzuki only offers the 1.3-litre diesel engine option with the Vitara Brezza in the Indian market. According to the ARAI certificate, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza returns a maximum fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l, which is extremely good. The fuel efficiency remains the same for the automatic and manual model. The Hyundai Venue with the 1.4-litre diesel engine returns a maximum of 23.7 km/l. The naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine available with the Hyundai Venue returns a maximum of 17.52 km/l while the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine returns a maximum of 18.27 km/l with the manual transmission and 18.15 km/l with the 7-speed DCT.

Goes for a longer distance

With higher fuel efficiency, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza also offers a bigger 48-litre fuel tank compared to the 45-litre tank capacity of the Hyundai Venue. This ensures that the Brezza goes for a longer distance without stopping for fuel.

Convenience

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers extra features like rain-sensing wipers that automatically adjusts the speed of the wipers according to the flow of the rain. It is extremely convenient to drive the Brezza during the rain as one does not needs to select the speed of the wiper every now and then according to the speed of the rain. Maruti Suzuki also offers a sunglass holder, which again is missing from the Hyundai Venue.

Dual-Clutch automatic transmission

The Hyundai Venue offers the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine option. The DCT is much smoother to use than the conventional AMT. However, it should be noted that the DCT is a much more complex technology and will require a hefty amount to repair.

Gets a sunroof

The Hyundai Venue gets a sunroof, which is not offered by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. However,  the sunroof is not a critical feature in India and is not used by many due to the extreme weather conditions in the country.

Bigger infotainment system

The Hyundai Venue offers a big 8.0-inch HD infotainment screen, which is placed as a floating-type screen. However, the screen can be difficult to reach by the driver as it is positioned awkwardly. The system in the Brezza is much better placed in terms of ergonomics.

Rear AC vents

The Hyundai Venue offers rear AC vents, which is not available with the Brezza. However, the position of the rear AC vents can trouble the middle passenger in the rear seat. It also becomes a hindrance in the legroom of the rear seat passengers. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers a better, cleaner rear legroom space while offering a better AC efficiency.

Projector fog lamps

The Hyundai Venue offers the segment-first projector fog lamps that give a much better view of the road ahead. However, since the projector fog lamps are quite expensive, the repair cost or replacement cost can be much higher than the conventional lamps.
