Maruti will soon launch the facelifted version of the popular sedan, the Ciaz. Petrol hybrid engine

The new Maruti Ciaz will get an all-new petrol engine. The all-new 1.5-litre petrol will replace the current engine option from the model. That’s not all, for the first time in India, Maruti will offer the smart hybrid system with the petrol model. Until now, only the diesel engines offered the SHVS hybrid system in the Indian market. The new engine gets 103 Bhp of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine will remain the same and continue to offer the hybrid system.

Comes with automatic

The new Ciaz will continue to get the 4-speed automatic transmission with the petrol engine similar to the current version of the car. It will also get a 5-speed manual transmission with the all-new petrol engine. The diesel engine will only get the 5-speed manual gearbox.

Most fuel efficient in the segment

With the new hybrid petrol engine, the new Ciaz will be the most fuel efficient petrol car in the segment. The manual petrol version of the car will return a maximum of 21.56 km/l while the 4-speed automatic transmission will return 20.28 km/l. The diesel engine will remain the same and will return a maximum of 28.09 km/l.

Maruti Suzuki will continue to offer four trim levels of the car just as the current ones. There will be Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha versions of the Ciaz. However, our source reveals that there is a lot of changes in the equipment list for each variant and they are quite different from the current model.

Loaded base variant

To make the Ciaz even more exciting, Maruti Suzuki will offer more standard features. New features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist will be standard across the variants. Also, the base variant will get the ABS+EBD and dual front airbags as standard.

More convenient too!

Maruti has made the new Ciaz more convenient too. Starting right from the base version, the new Ciaz will get the infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity. Also, the steering wheel will now come with controls that can be used for answering the calls or change tracks.

More loaded mid variants

With the base variant getting extra features, Maruti Suzuki has also added more features to the Delta variant of the Ciaz. With the update, the Delta variant will get 15-inch alloy wheels and cruise control as standard. The Delta variant sits just above the entry-level Sigma variant in the line-up.

Extra features!

The Zeta variant of the Ciaz will now get LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED fog lamps with chrome garnish. This is the first time that the Ciaz will offer LED headlamps in India. It should be noted that Maruti already offers LED lamps in the cars like Ignis, Swift and Dzire in India.

Loaded top variant

The top-end Alpha variant of the Ciaz will now get 16-inch alloy wheels. The diamond cut alloy wheels will get an updated design. The fully-loaded variant will offer all the other additions like LED projectors and cruise control. However, the sunroof is still missing from the model.

Launch date

Maruti has not set a final date of launch but the car is expected to launch on 20th August. A preview of the vehicle is possible on 15th August but it has not been confirmed yet. The cars should arrive at the dealerships soon and the deliveries are expected to begin by the last week of August. The extra features will also make the vehicle a little more expensive than the current version.
