Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the facelifted Ciaz on the 20th of August 2018. A new leaked document reveals all there is know about the facelifted Maruti Ciaz, save for the pricing of the car, which will be announced on the 20th. The facelifted Ciaz promises a range of segment-leading features. It’ll be the only hybrid car in the C-Segment sedan space.
A cruise control system will also be offered on the car. Another key aspect of the Maruti Ciaz Facelift will be its segment-leading fuel efficiency numbers on both the petrol and diesel trims. The carm which will be 4,490 mm in length, 1,485 mm in height, 1,730 mm in width and have a 2,650-mm wheelbase, will also be the longest and widest vehicle in its class.
The petrol-powered Ciaz will use a 1.5-litre K-Series engine with 104 Bhp-138 Nm on tap. Five-speed manual and four-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes will accompany this engine. The manual variants get a 21.56-Kmpl fuel efficiency rating while the automatic variants will deliver 20.28 Kmpl.
The Suzuki Vehicle Hybrid System (SHVS) smart hybrid system will feature torque assist, idle stop and brake energy regeneration features. The same system will come with the 1.3-litre diesel engine, which makes 89 Bhp-200 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard on diesel-powered models.
As for safety features, the Ciaz will get ABS+EBD, twin airbags, a speed alert system, reverse parking camera and sensors, hill hold assist and electronic stability control (on the automatic variants), driver and co-passenger seat belt reminders and cruise control. Creature comforts on the car include automatic headlamps, automatic air conditioning, LED projector headlamps, rear AC vents, a Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a new TFT instrument cluster. The Ciaz will be one of the most feature-rich C-Segment sedans of India, and is expected to carry a very competitive price tag. We expect prices of the car to start from under Rs. 8 lakhs.
