Maruti Ertiga-based Toyota Rumion MPV launched at Rs. 10.29 lakh: Bookings open

The Indo-Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently unveiled the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga-based MPV, Rumion, in India. Now, the company has also announced the pricing for this highly anticipated vehicle. The all-new Toyota Rumion MPV will start at Rs 10.29 lakh and will go up to Rs 13.68 lakh. The company will offer this MPV with a petrol and a CNG drivetrain. Additionally, the company announced that the deliveries of this new MPV will commence from 8th September this year.

The newly launched Toyota Rumion MPV will be offered in 7 variants. Six of these seven variants will be petrol models, and 1 will be a CNG offering. The S variant will be the base variant of this MPV, which will be available with a manual transmission or can be had with an automatic transmission. The S MT variant has been priced at Rs 10.29 lakh, while the S AT variant has been priced at Rs. 11.89 lakh.

Next up in the lineup is the middle G variant, which will only be offered with a manual transmission. This variant has been priced at Rs 11.45 lakh. After this, there will be the top-of-the-line V variant, which will be offered with the options of a manual and an automatic transmission. The manual V variant has been priced at Rs 12.18 lakh. Meanwhile, the V automatic transmission variant has been priced at Rs 13.68, making it the most expensive. Lastly, the company will also offer the base S variant with a CNG kit as well, which has been priced at Rs 11.24 lakh.

In terms of the design, the Toyota Rumion looks exactly like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV, as it is based on it. However, it does feature some design differences to set it apart from its Maruti counterpart. The grille has been changed in the Rumion, along with unique elements such as the all-new front bumper and refreshed fog lamp surrounds. The car also gets a different set of dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the brand-new Toyota Rumion includes an infotainment system with a 17.78 cm Smartplay Cast Touchscreen and Arkamys Surround Sense for a rich audio experience. It also gets other features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted audio and calling controls, and USB connectivity.

The Rumion also includes Toyota i-Connect, which provides remote control of the temperature, lock/unlock, warning lights, and headlights, among other functions. It works with smartwatches and the Hey Siri speech assistant. Toyota i-Connect also includes safety and security features such as auto collision warning, tow alert, find my car, valet profile, vehicle health monitoring, and malfunction indicator monitoring.

As for the powertrain, the Toyota Rumion gets the same 1.5-liter K-series petrol engine that is offered in the Ertiga. This engine comes equipped with Neo Drive (ISG) technology. According to the company, the petrol variant is projected to achieve an impressive fuel efficiency of 20.51 km/l, while the CNG variant, which comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit, is anticipated to return a remarkable 26.11 km/kg. The transmission options include both a 5-speed manual and a smooth 6-speed automatic, catering to enthusiasts of both driving modes.

Delivery of the vehicles for the customer who book the All New Toyota Rumion, will commence from 8th of September 2023.”
