Maruti Suzuki dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs. 65,000 on the current model of the Ertiga MPV. The discounts are aimed at clearing stock ahead of the all-new Ertiga‘s arrival into India in the middle of November. With just a month left for the new model to arrive, customers opting for the outgoing Ertiga stand to benefit from a Rs. 65,000 discount on the diesel variants and a Rs. 45,000 discount on the petrol model.
The discount on the current Maruti Ertiga Diesel is split into two parts – a Rs. 30,000 cash discount and Rs. 35,000 exchange bonus. On the petrol version, the cash discount component stands at Rs. 15,000 while the exchange bonus is pegged at Rs. 30,000. The all-new Ertiga will arrive on the 21st of November. The current Ertiga will be rebadged the Tour model and will be sold to taxi fleets.
The 2nd generation Ertiga will gain a host of improvements. For starters, it’ll be larger thanks to the bigger body. However, wheelbase will remain unchanged. The larger body is expected to make the MPV more spacious than the outgoing model. The new MPV will be based on the HEARTECT platform, and is expected to become lighter. The lighter weight will improve both pick-up and mileage.
The styling is another highlight of the new Ertiga. With totally revamped interiors and exteriors, the new MPV looks more grown up and premium than the model it replaces. It also gets a new 1.5 liter petrol engine that’s more powerful, with 104 Bhp-138 Nm on tap. The petrol engine is paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while a 4 speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be offered as an option.
The diesel engine is a 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet unit that will be carried over from the older model. This motor makes 89 Bhp-200 Nm, and will get a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard. The new Ertiga will get twin airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system, provision for ISOFIX child seats and seat belt reminders as standard safety features. A touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be offered on the top trims. Prices are likely to start from well within Rs. 7 lakhs.
