Maruti Grand Vitara Base Trim priced lower than new Brezza ZXI: Who should buy what [Video]

This year Maruti launched two SUVs 2022 Brezza and the all-new Grand Vitara in the market. Detailed video and text review for both these SUVs are available on our website. Both these SUVs cater needs of different segment of buyers and there is a major difference in the price as well. While one is a sub-4 meter compact SUV, the other is a premium SUV which competes with cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The base variant of Grand Vitara is actually slightly cheaper than the ZXI variant manual of Maruti Brezza. Here we have a video that compares both these SUVs to give us a clear view on who should buy what.

The video has been shared by Anubhav Chauhan on his YouTube channel. The vlogger compares Sigma variant of Grand Vitara with ZXI variant of Maruti Brezza. We would be comparing the factors like features, space, mileage and also street presence.

The base Sigma variant of Grand Vitara is priced at Rs 10.45 lakh, ex-showroom and the ZXI manual variant of Brezza is priced at Rs 10.8 lakh, ex-showroom. For a base variant Maruti, Grand Vitara is offering many features like request sensors on both driver and co-passenger doors, remote lock/unlock, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, all four power windows, push button start/stop, dual-function LED DRLs, projector headlamps, all LED tail lamps, armrest, automatic cliamte control and rear AC vents. It however misses on features like cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system, alloy wheels and reverse parking camera. All these missing features are present in the Brezza and it comes with an electric sunroof too.

As mentioned above, Maruti Brezza is a sub-4 meter compact SUV and Grand Vitara is around 4.3 metres long. Maruti Brezza offers decent amount of space for 5 people and also has a large boot space but, Grand Vitara is 350 mm longer and 5 mm wider than Brezza. It also has 100 mm longer wheelbase than Brezza. This all reflects into a much more roomier and spacious cabin than the Brezza. The boot space in the Grand Vitara mild hybrid version (373 litres) is also slightly more than that of Maruti Brezza (328 litres). Vlogger mentions that Grand Vitara feels much more comfotable and spacious.

The versions seen here get 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.  The ZXI variant of Maruti Brezza has a ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.89 kmpl which is decent for a sub-4 meter SUV. Coming to Grand Vitara mild hybrid version with manual gearbox has an ARAI crtified fuel economy of 21.11 kmpl. On paper Grand Vitara is bigger and offers a better fuel efficiency too.

Street Presence

Both Grand Vitara and Brezza have an SUVish stance. Grand Vitara looks premium on the outside while Brezza with is much more muscular and bold looking design looks bigger than Grand Vitara from many angles.

Coming to the conclusion, the vlogger mentions that Grand Vitara’s Sigma variant feels like a value for money product as it offers more space, premium looks and also better fuel efficiency. If you are looking for features then Maruti Brezza’s ZXi variant would make more sense to you.
