The newest ladder-frame SUV, the Jimny, from the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has started arriving at dealerships, and with it, a ton of people have also started coming to check it out. Recently, a video of the Jimny’s rear seat comfort test has been shared online where three adults try to fit inside this new lifestyle off-roader. The video also talks about the other highlights of the car in great detail and gives a complete walk-around of the car.
The video of Jimny’s seating test has been shared on YouTube by Anubhav Chauhan on their channel. It starts with the presenter asking his three friends to sit inside the Jimny’s rear seats. He states that it is a known fact that the car is only comfortable for four people, where two can sit in the front and two can sit in the rear. He then flips the front driver seat to show a better view of the three people sitting inside the car. He asks each of his friends about their heights to which they replied that two of them are 5 feet 10 inches, and the one in the middle is 5 feet and 7 inches.

From the video, it can be noted that the middle passenger sits in a very cramped position and does not look comfortable at all. Following this, the presenter of the video asks the middle person to get out, and after that, it can be seen that the two remaining people sit much more comfortably. The friend on the right then mentions that a kid can fit in the middle, but an adult will not be comfortable sitting as shown. Moving on, the presenter then moves to the other side of the car to the flat-folding seats of the car and asks his friend to recline the front passenger seat all the way. His friend does the exact thing, and then it can be seen that the seat is not at all flat.
Following this, the presenter then performs another test on the car for which he asks one of the people in the showroom to sit in the trunk of the car. He asks the person about his height and weight to which he replies that he has a height of 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 120 kgs. He then proceeds to sit, and the suspension of the car can be seen dropping down significantly. The presenter then states that this could become a problem during off-roading. Moving on, he then shows the car’s side profile and talks about the alloy wheels and tire setup.
The presenter states that the company provides the Jimny with 15-inch alloy wheels which, although look okay, come with normal road tires. He added that if anyone wants to use this car for proper off-roading purposes, then they will have to buy all-terrain tires for it. He further states that Maruti Suzuki only offers the front wheels with disc brakes, and in the rear, it still gets drum brakes. He then shows the other highlights of the SUV, like tow hooks in front and rear, along with the unique headlight washers. He also reveals the engine compartment of the car and tells that it does not get any insulation and opens only to a certain height.
