Ahead of its official launch in a few weeks, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny has started appearing in NEXA dealerships across the country. The first dealership to display the new Jimny is an authorized outlet in Gurugram, where the SUV has arrived for a brief duration. As expected, a large number of people have started visiting the dealership to catch a glimpse of the all-new Jimny.
A YouTube video by ‘Anubhav Chouhan’ shows the visuals of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Jimny parked inside the showroom, swarmed by several people who came to check out this SUV. Most of these people are those who have booked this new compact lifestyle off-roader after Maruti Suzuki opened up its bookings in January 2023 at the Auto Expo 2023.

The YouTuber attempted to record public reactions towards this SUV and asked a few people who came to watch the new Jimny. Almost all of the people who came to see the new Jimny were impressed by the way it looks. The Jimny which has been put up on display is the Alpha automatic variant in the striking signature shade of Kinetic Yellow.
Indian market to only get a five-door variant
Some people who came to see the Jimny termed it as ‘love at first sight’. It’s not hard to see why, as the three-door version has already been known as one of the most adorable vehicles on sale. The Indian market will be receiving the five-door version, which, despite having a longer wheelbase and two additional doors, has retained the original design of the three-door version.
Apart from the design, most people also checked out the cabin space and ergonomics. While a few people who are more than 6ft tall said that headroom is at a premium, many appreciated that it is good enough for four people. Also, given the presence of rear door panels, it is more practical and spacious for rear passengers. For reference, its direct rival, the Mahindra Thar, is available only in a three-door version, with limited space and comparatively difficult accessibility for rear passengers.
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to go on sale officially in May 2023 and will be available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha. Both these variants will come with Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system and a 1.5-litre petrol 104 PS engine, with the choices of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions.
