Maruti releases official teaser of the 2018 S-Cross before launch

Maruti Suzuki will launch the updated flagship – S-Cross India on 28th September 2017. The crossover gets many updates on the outside and the inside. Maruti has released a teaser video on its social media channel before the launch of the S-Cross.

The S-Cross is already available in the international markets. It gets a new face with a vertically mounted grille. There are projector headlamps on the either side of the grille. The S-Cross gets a new bumper too. The teaser video shows a glimpse of all the new features.

Maruti Suzuki has also dropped the powerful 1.6-litre engine from the new S-Cross. There will be the 1.3-litre Multijet engine that is available with the current S-Cross on offer. However, Maruti has added the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) to the S-Cross. It will increase the mileage by a great deal while the power is expected to remain same. Maruti also offers the same system on the Ciaz and the Ertiga in India.

The engine still produces a maximum of 89 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and the torque peaks at 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The mileage has increased considerably to 25.1 km/l from the 23.65 km/l in the current model.

Maruti has not changed the variants on the new S-Cross. It still comes in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The top two trims will also come with new machine cut 16-inch alloy wheels. The tyre size has also increased and gone to 215 cross section from 205 section in the current model.

Maruti will continue to offer five colours with the new S-Cross. There will be Caffeine Brown, Pearl Arctic White, Granite Grey and Premium Silver. The car will now get Stargaze Blue Colour instead of the Urban Blue.

The new S-Cross is expected to carry a slightly premium price tag than the current generation S-Cross due to the addition of the SHVS. Stay tuned as we bring in more updates on the same.
