Maruti Suzki has launched the new Alto 800 which comes in three variants, standard, LX and LXi, along with a CNG-petrol dual-fuel option. The Alto 800 is priced between Rs.2.44 lakh and Rs.3.56 lakh.
Externally the design is much different from the older versions of the Alto and it looks like a blend of multiple cars. The design is slightly quirky but overall the Alto 800 does look fresh.
The Alto 800 is powered by the same old F8D, 796 cc three-cylinder petrol engine but its power has been increased by about 3 bhp to 47.5 bhp at 6000 rpm. Torque has been bumped up to 69 Nm from the earlier 62 Nm. It comes with a five-speed manual gearbox that has quite a light shift feel. Also read: Maruti launches all-new Alto 800
