In terms of looks, the Alto K10 hatchback borrows the body shell of the Alto 800, but comes with new front and rear ends. The headlamps and tail lamps are new units. On the inside, the car is said to gain dual tone dashboard and door trim finishes. New features will also be added to the car in terms of power assist for all four windows and beige interiors for select variants. New colour options will be offered with the facelifted Alto K10 range.

Mechanical changes on the Alto K10 Facelift will include the addition of an automated manual transmission (AMT) option to the 1 liter K-Series petrol engine. The motor outputs 67 Bhp-90 Nm and gets a five speed manual transmission as standard fare. The Alto K10 AMT will be the lowest priced automatic car sold in India, given the car’s price positioning under the Celerio AMT hatchback.

If web reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki is targeting the “most fuel efficient petrol automatic car in India” title with the Alto K10 Facelift. The Alto K10 will also be the most fuel efficient petrol car in Maruti Suzuki’s Indian line up. The Alto K10 Facelift will also be served up with a CNG-Petrol dual fuel option. While the K-Series petrol engine in the WagonR also gets the LPG-Petrol dual fuel option, it remains to be seen if Maruti Suzuki decides to offer this combination on the Alto K10 Facelift. Four variants with three badges, LX, LXi and VXi are likely to be offered on the Alto K10 Facelift.
