Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Ertiga and XL6 get new connectivity features via OTA

Good news for the existing and upcoming owners of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Ertiga, and Xl6. Maruti Suzuki India Limited recently announced that it will be rolling out an OTA (Over-the-Air) update for these vehicles to enable them with some exciting new connectivity features. With this new update, select variants of these popular Maruti vehicles will now get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity with their SmartPlay Pro and Pro+ infotainment systems. Along with this, the company will also add turn-by-turn navigation on the head-up display (HUD).

It is to be noted that the turn-by-turn navigation on the head-up display (HUD) will only be available on the Baleno. Meanwhile, it will also be available on the multi-information display (MID) of the Ertiga, and XL6 along with Baleno as well. Furthermore, the Ertiga and XL6 customers will also get acoustic tuning ‘Surround Sense’ powered by Arkamys.

The Indo-Japanese automaker stated that the upgrades are available to both existing as well as new buyers of the Baleno, XL6, and Ertiga. They may download the updates from Maruti Suzuki’s official website or use their smartphones to install them. Similar connectivity updates were recently released by Maruti Suzuki for the its highly popular subcompact SUV the Brezza. And its top-of-the-line Grand Vitara, was debuted in September 2022 with these features already equipped.

The Baleno recently also received a price hike of Rs 12,000 as part of the recent January 2023 price increase. Although Maruti did not just simply bump up the price. It also gave the Baleno two new features as standard across its model range even on the base Sigma MT variant. Maruti Suzuki gave the new 2023 Baleno, new standard safety features like ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and hill hold.

Rear power windows and automatic climate control, which were previously only available with the Delta model, are other new additions that have been given to the base Sigma MT variant of the premium hatchback Baleno. Furthermore, the Baleno Sigma also includes tilt-adjustable steering, twin front airbags, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors.

A 1.2-litre K series dual jet, dual VVT engine with idle start stop technology powers the Baleno. It produces a maximum of 89.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum of 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Both a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission are available. CNG is also an option, however the standard model does not support it. Only the  Delta and Zeta variants come available with CNG. The engine produces 77.5 PS and 98.5 Nm when powered by CNG. There is a 5-speed manual transmission available for the Baleno CNG.

In other Maruti Suzuki India Limited news, the company recently also launched the Black Edition models for both of its dealership networks – the Arena as well the Nexa. Models from both of the brands from the company can now be opted with a stunning black color option. All the Maruti Suzuki Arena cars except for the entry-level Alto 800, will be available with a black color option. Customers can choose the black shade for cars like Alto K10, S-Presso and WagonR with the optional package called the Xtra Edition pack.
