Maruti Suzuki Baleno & Ignis get a new paint scheme

Maruti Suzuki has updated the colour palette of two of its Nexa offerings. The Ignis and the Baleno, which is the entry-level and premium hatchback of the Nexa line-up now gets a new Nexa Blue colour. The Urban Blue colour of the Ignis and Baleno have been discontinued. The Nexa Blue colour, which was first popularised by the S-Cross now adorns both the vehicles. No reasons have been given for the change but we believe that all the cars sold through the Nexa showrooms are expected to get this Nexa Blue colour to maintain a uniformity. The other two Nexa vehicles – Ciaz and S-Cross already sport the new colour.

No other changes have been done to the vehicle apart from addition of the new colour. As per a source, the new colour has started to arrive at the dealers and will be soon available for deliveries. The feature list, engines and even the other colours remain same as the current version.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis offers 6 colour options to choose from. Apart from the Nexa Blue, there is a Tinsel Blue, Glistering Grey, Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver and Uptown Red. The funky looking Ignis also offers many customisation options to make the vehicle unique. Customers can choose from various roof wraps, graphics and coloured body parts to make it different from the rest.

The Suzuki Baleno is available in seven colours in total including the Nexa Blue. There is Granite Grey, Pearl Arctic White, Ray Blue, Autumn Orange, Premium Silver, and Fire Red to choose from.

The Ignis is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 82 Bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission and a choice of AMT automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel variants are powered by a 1.3-litre engine that generates a maximum power of 74 Bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque.

The Baleno premium hatchback is also powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 83 Bhp and peak torque of 115 Nm. The diesel variants get a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine that generates a maximum power of 74 Bhp and 190 Nm. The Baleno petrol also gets a choice of CVT automatic transmission.
