Maruti recently showcased the all-new DZire. The compact sedan will be launched on May 16th and Maruti has already opened the bookings for the car. The DZire will be sold through standard non Nexa outlets of the company. The car can be booked at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Customers who have already booked the old DZire and are still waiting for their car can convert the booking to get the new car.
The all-new DZire looks very premium. The car is built on an all-new platform that underpins Baleno too. It looks more like a sedan now with more angled A-pillar and C-pillars. The DZire has rounded edges and gets a new grille up front with heavy chrome. There are projector headlamps with DRLs and LED brake lamps too. The car gets 15-inch precision cut alloy wheels and a lower ground clearance of 163mm.
The new DZire is also lighter by up to 150 kg. It has become wider by 20mm offering more shoulder room to the passengers. The new DZire also gets a bigger 376-litre of boot space. The wheelbase also increases in the new DZire and it now offers 50mm more knee room.
The DZire gets new flat bottom steering with wooden panels. The dashboard also gets wood inserts making it look premium. It gets dual airbags and ABS as standard across all the variants. The all-new DZire also gets a touch-sensitive screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
The engine options will remain the same. There will be 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine options. Both the engines will get AMT as an option. The DZire will also perform better and will have higher fuel efficiency, thanks to the lower weight of the vehicle. The car will officially launch on May 16 and there will be a slight increase in the prices too.
