Maruti Suzuki Fronx deliveries commence across the country [Video]

Maruti Suzuki recently announced the prices for its all-new crossover, the Fronx. The Fronx was first unveiled at the Auto Expo this year, and bookings for it started the same day. It received an overwhelming response from customers, and after waiting for almost four months, Maruti has started delivering the all-new crossover. Videos of people taking delivery of their Fronx have started surfacing online. Here, we have one such video from Hyderabad. According to the video, it is the first Maruti Suzuki Fronx to be delivered in Hyderabad.

Janapati Nagarjuna shared the video on his YouTube channel. In the video, we see a family taking delivery of their brand-new Fronx. The car was unveiled before the customer as part of the ceremony, and the dealership had also arranged a cake for the customer to cut. The family looked happy about their new ride. Maruti Suzuki launched this new crossover with a starting price of Rs. 7,46,500 for the base variant and up to Rs. 13,14,000 for the top-end variant.

For those who are not aware, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is actually a beefed-up version of the Maruti Baleno premium hatchback. The manufacturer has made several changes to the design of the car to ensure that both cars look different. As this is designed to look like an SUV or crossover, the manufacturer took the front grille from their recently launched mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara. The exterior design of the Fronx looks muscular and definitely has an SUV vibe to it. A detailed first drive review of the all-new Fronx is available on our website and YouTube channel.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has split LED headlamps, and the dual-function LED DRLs act as an extension of the chrome bar on the front grille. The rear has all-LED tail lamps with a connected LED bar running across the width of the vehicle. Both the front and rear have faux skid plates. The interior of this crossover is more like the Baleno. It comes with a HUD, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, connected car features, a 360-degree camera, and so on.

Regarding the engine and transmission options, Maruti Suzuki is offering two petrol engines. There is a 1.2-litre DualJet four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that generates 90 PS and 113 Nm of torque. It is available with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Other than this, the higher models are also offered with a 1.0-litre Booster Jet petrol engine. This is the same engine that was once offered with the Baleno RS. The engine and the RS model were discontinued as part of BS6 emission norms. This 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine generates 100 PS and 147 Nm of torque. It is available with both a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Maruti Fronx is a crossover aimed to rival models like the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon in the market. Maruti is expected to launch a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross in the market soon. The SUV is expected to come with a strong hybrid engine option only.
