Maruti Suzuki will reveal the all-new Futuro-e concept at the 2020 Auto Expo, which is scheduled to start from 5th February. The all-new concept is expected to be the future of electric automobiles by India’s largest manufacturer. The manufacturer, however, has officially said that the Futuro-e will demonstrate the future of design from Maruti Suzuki.

The teaser image released by Maruti Suzuki shows the SUV-Coupe design of the Future-e concept. Something that the manufacturer can launch in the future. It also reveals the sharp headlamp and tail lamp units that are elongated and are stretched towards the side of the car.

Offering a sneak peek into the future of design, Concept FUTURO-e represents Maruti Suzuki’s vision for the Indian automobile market. Pegged as an Indian car with global sensibilities, Concept FUTURO-e takes into consideration the evolving desires of country’s aspirational youth. Concept FUTURO-e tastefully draws inspiration from geo-organic structural forms occurring in nature. Its beauty is evident from its simplicity and magnificent detailing. The design of Concept FUTURO-e is a fascinating fusion of a coupé with a SUV. It is a significant departure from the mainstream SUV architecture and is expected to raise the design bar of Utility Vehicles in India.”

The all-new Futuro-e will be showcased as a manufacturer’s future design strategy. It will also offer signature future lighting system in the front and the rear. The lights will be all-LED set-up, which uses low energy and is much more efficient when it comes to lighting up the roads. Details remain obscure about the concept vehicle till now. Also, it is not known if the concept version will enter production in the coming years.

However, whenever it enters the production, it will get an all-electric powertrain. Since Maruti Suzuki is yet to launch an electric car model in the Indian market, the Futuro-e will raise the hopes in the market. The manufacturer is expected to launch the all-new WagonR EV in the Indian market later this year but it will be available only for the fleet car owners. The car will go on sale for the private car buyers at a later date.

Maruti Suzuki will launch a slew of products in the Indian market this year including the petrol-powered Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and more. The manufacturer may also launch the Creta-rivalling Vitara in the market.
