Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is currently the flagship SUV in India. The SUV was launched last year and it quickly became popular among buyers for its looks and premium features. It is a mid-size SUV that competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in the segment. When compared to other Maruti products, Grand Vitara came with a long list of features including a panoramic sunroof. These features are however limited to higher variants. Here we have a video where a Delta variant of Maruti Grand Vitara has been neatly customised to look like a higher variant model.
The video has been uploaded by VIG AUTO ACCESSORIES on their YouTube channel. In this video, there are not one but two Grand Vitara Delta variant SUVs. They don’t come with many features when compared to older higher variants. In the first SUV, the vlogger replaced the stock steel rims with genuine Grand Vitara alloy wheels. He also installed lower window chrome garnish, door visors, roof rails in this SUV.
Major customisations were done to the interior.Maruti offers black and brown coloured fabric seats with lower variants of Grand Vitara. The dashboard, door pads are all wrapped in leatheretter material. It is wrapped in a brown coloured leathrette material. The seat covers are also custom made units. The fit and finish of the seat cover looks brilliant. It is finished in ice grey and brown dual-tone shade. The pillars and roof liners have also been wrapped in ice grey shade. The SUV did come with a touchscreen infotainment system. That has been retained but the speakers have been upgraded to JBLs. All the windows gets high infrared heat rejection films and the gear knob has been upgraded too.
The next Grand Vitara is also a Delta variant. Both SUVs get different treatment. The exterior modifications remain almost the same however the interiors have been customised differently. The SUV gets brown coloured leather wraps on the door pad. The silver accents on the door and the dashboard were all replaced with piano black inserts. Even the AC vents were finished in gloss black. Coming to the seats, the fabric seats have been replaced with custom made seat covers. This is a single tone cover with diamond patterns on it. The upper part of the dashboard and the center console also gets leather padding. Work done on both SUVs look neat and it does not look like a base variant Grand Vitara anymore.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available with petrol engine options only. There is a mild hybrid and strong hybrid variant on offer. The mild hybrid version of the SUV is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine that generates 103 Ps and 136 Nm of peak torque. This engine option is available with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Next engine on offer is the a 1.5 litre, three-cylinder petrol unit mated to a strong hybrid system. It works along with an electric motor for better efficiency. It generates 93 Ps and 122 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with an eCVT gearbox only.
