Delveries for all-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara have already started and we have seen many ownership review videos of the same on the internet. We have seen videos of Grand Vitara strong hybrid where customers have tested the fuel economy of the car. Maruti Grand Vitara is a mid-size SUV that competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun in the segment. Here we have a video where the mild hybrid version of Grand Vitara competes with a Hyundai Creta diesel in a drag race.
The video has been uploaded by Deep khatanaa on their YouTube channel. In this video, Grand Vitara mild hybrid automatic and Hyundai Creta diesel manual SUV compete with each other in a drag race. The race is conducted on a highway that is closed for construction. The Grand Vitara seen here is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103 Ps and 136 Nm of peak torque. The Hyundai Creta diesel on the other hand uses a 1.5 litre turbocharged engine that generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque.

The race is conducted in three rounds and both AC and traction control was turned off on both the car. The vlogger asks owners of both the SUVs to know which SUV would win the race in the race. Both owners were confident about their own cars and vlogger for some reason thought Grand Vitara would win the race. The race starts and in first round, vlogger was sitting in Grand Vitara and his friend was driving the Creta. Both cars had 2 passengers in it. The race started and almost immediately, Hyundai Creta took off the start line.
The Grand Vitara did not have an aggressive start as Creta and by the time, it caught speed, Hyundai Creta was way ahead of it. At no point, Grand Vitara was anywhere near Creta. Hyundai Creta won the first round without any issues. For the second round, the vlogger asked Grand Vitara driver to shift to manual mode so that the car can hold on to a particular gear till higher RPMs. Both cars lined up for the race and it started. Just like the first round, the Creta had an aggressive start and the Grand Vitara was left behind. It looks like the owner of the Grand Vitara is not used to such races and he seemed a bit confused when he shifted to manual version.
The Grand Vitara did not win the second round as well. For the third round, vlogger decided to drive the Grand Vitara instead of its owner. They lined up the cars at the start line and started racing. This time, vlogger took off the car a bit early which gave it an advantage that lasted only for few seconds. Once the Creta picked up speed, it left Grand Vitara behind and took the lead. In third round also Creta won the race. The Creta was slightly more powereful and was generating more torque than Grand Vitara which helped it win in this race. The throttle response is more aggressive in Creta than in Grand Vitara automatic.
