Last year, Maruti Suzuki launched their mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara, in the market, which has been performing well in terms of sales, resulting in a long waiting period for some variants. Currently, the Grand Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s flagship model, and many people who purchased lower variants are already opting for customizations and modifications. In this video uploaded by VIG AUTO ACCESSORIES on their YouTube channel, a lower-spec variant of the Maruti Grand Vitara SUV has been customized on the inside to have a premium look.

The presenter talks about all the changes that his workshop has done to the Grand Vitara SUV. The interior of the SUV is showcased first. The stock interior of the Grand Vitara has a brown and black dual-tone, with hard plastic bits on the dashboard and door pads, and fabric covers on the seats, which have all been changed.

As part of the customization, the Grand Vitara now has a brown and rustic orange shade theme in the cabin, with leatherette material wrapping the door pads and dashboards, and custom fit seat covers in a rustic orange shade replacing the fabric seats. The door pads come with brown-colored leather wrapping, and the interior trims have a metallic black finish. The seat covers have a good fit and finish.

As this was a lower-spec variant, the touchscreen infotainment system on this SUV has also been upgraded, now with a 10-inch aftermarket unit displaying feed from the reverse parking camera. Maruti’s genuine USB ports for both front and rear passengers have also been installed, and the gear knob cover has been changed. The steering wheel has also been upgraded, which does not have cruise control but has audio control buttons on it. This is a flat-bottomed unit that looks chunky and sporty.

Moving to the exterior, the owner has opted for subtle modifications only, with the major attraction being the wheels. The stock 17-inch wheels on this Grand Vitara have been upgraded to 18-inch alloy wheels, with a design similar to what we have seen on Hyundai Tucson. The SUV gets fender garnishes, and the headlights have been upgraded to LEDs. Other than these changes, no other modifications can be seen on this SUV.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available with two engine options: a mild hybrid version and a strong hybrid version. The mild hybrid version uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission option. The strong hybrid version uses a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that works with an electric motor to make the car more efficient. The strong hybrid version is one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in the segment, with a claimed fuel efficiency of over 27 kmpl. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki jointly developed Grand Vitara for Indian market and it is manufactured by Toyota at their Bidadi plant in India. Toyota Hyryder also shares the same set of features and engine as Grand Vitara.
