Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ignis: This is what it could look like

Here is a rendered image by SRK for IAB that shows what the upcoming Ignis may look like when it is launched in the Indian market. The new Ignis may get a different grille, which will make it look much more intimidating. This rendering image shows what the upcoming facelifted version of the car may look like when it is launched in the Indian market. To start with, the front-end of the Ignis will have a butch face, thanks to the new and updated grille. The grille looks quite similar to the international version of Suzuki Vitara. However, as per reports, the front-end grille of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be similar to the Vitara Brezza, which is available in the Indian market.

The new Suzuki Ignis will be launched in the Indian market in the coming days. It should be noted that earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki launched an updated version of the car to make it meet with the AIS 145 safety norms that will come into effect from 1st July 2019. Maruti Suzuki also discontinued the 1.3-litre diesel engine option available with the Ignis back then. Going forward, when the BS6 emission norms come into effect from 2020, Maruti Suzuki will not offer diesel engine option with any of the models in the Indian market.

The other changes in the rendering image include new alloy wheels, coloured rim tapes and black cladding all around that increases the overall ruggedness of the vehicle. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is the most affordable car from the premium Nexa dealership network of the brand. On the inside, the features are expected to remain the same without any changes. However, Maruti Suzuki may add a few new things to make the Maruti Suzuki Ignis a well-rounded product.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis will remain powered by the 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol engine in the Indian market. It produces a maximum power of 93 PS at 6,000 rpm while the torque peaks at 113 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The Ignis will offer both manual and AMT automatic transmission options. With both the transmission options, the Ignis returns a maximum of 20.89 km/l.

The Ignis offers dealership-level customisations like roof wrap and other features. It has always been a car for the young buyers with the new update, it will continue to target the same set of customers.
