Maruti Suzuki has just introduced a special edition model of its B+ segment tall-boy hatchback, the Ritz. Through the Elate Edition, the Ritz gets additional features on the inside with visual highlights on the outside. The car retains its naturally aspirated petrol and turbo diesel engine line up. Prices of the Ritz Elate Edition are yet to be announced and expect to pay a premium of 30,000-40,000 rupees for the kitted out car.
The additional features on the Ritz Elate Edition are,
- 2-DIN music system with speakers
- Seat covers
- Bluetooth stereo and telephony kit
- Reverse parking sensors
- Body graphics
- Door visors
- Floor mats
- Multipurpose bag
- Ambient lighting
- Neck cushions
- Steering wheel cover
- Mud flaps
The car is offered with two engine options, a 1.2 liter-4 cylinder K-Series petrol that outputs 85 Bhp of peak power and 113 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.3 liter-4 cylinder Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine outputs 75 Bhp-190 Nm. Both engines get 5 speed manual transmissions as standard while the petrol powered Ritz gets a 4 speed, torque converter automatic gearbox as an option. The only tall-boy hatchback in Maruti Suzuki’s B+ segment car portfolio, the Ritz is preferred by both the young and the old, as the car offers easy ingress and egress.
The Ritz is priced slightly lower than the Swift, while offering similar levels of performance and space. Prices of the petrol Ritz start at 4.23 lakh rupees while that of the diesel powered Ritz start at 5.27 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi. Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers a chunky 65,000 rupees discount on the Ritz in the form of a 30,000 rupees cash discount and a 35,000 rupees exchange bonus. An average seller by Maruti Suzuki’s lofty standards, about 2,500 examples of the Ritz find homes in India each month. The car got a facelift last year and the latest upgrade seeks to boost sales.
