As the launch date of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny draws near, hype for the compact off-roader is simultaneously increasing. While many people are sceptical about its size and stance, there are a few prospective SUV owners who have already made up their minds on how to customize it. If you are one of them, the digital rendering of a full-blown off-road-ready Maruti Suzuki Jimny Overlander Edition by Bimble Designs is worth considering.
A few pictures of the Jimny Overlander Edition are available on the design house’s Instagram handle, showing how the compact Maruti Suzuki Jimny can be transformed into a menacing-looking beast. Based on the soon-to-be-launched five-door Jimny, this Overlander Edition features a host of visual tweaks and component upgrades to make it look even better and proper for all-terrain use.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny Overlander Edition’s stance looks muscular and heightened, thanks to the huge 20-inch all-terrain tires. The Jimny comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, but these digital renderings show it with massive 20-inch wheels featuring the same design with a blacked-out finish. To ensure that the larger wheels don’t look ungainly, the suspension for this Edition has been lifted, making its road presence even better.
Like the much more expensive Mercedes-AMG G63, this Jimny Overlander Edition also has side-mounted exhausts. Vinyl stripes run horizontally over the bottom parts of the door panels, and the suspension is fully exposed from the front due to the off-road front bumper. This digital rendering of the Jimny also features an LS swap with a twin-turbo V8 replacing the much smaller 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. At the back, the tailgate has the spare wheel and tire in the same configuration as the set equipped for motion.
Rounding off the adventurous look of the Jimny Overlander Edition is the roof-mounted rack for carrying occupants’ luggage. Except for the LS swap, which is illegal and stupendously expensive in the Indian context, all other modifications and add-ons are possible in the Jimny. The off-roader comes with Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel drive system as standard, so the addition of these off-road bits will only make it more effective over off-road terrains.
Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the five-door Jimny in May. The off-roader was displayed at various NEXA dealer outlets throughout the country to generate more anticipation and excitement.
