Maruti Suzuki Jimny rescues Mahindra Thar stuck on sand dune [Video]

We already know that Maruti Suzuki Jimny is an extremely capable vehicle and due to its lightweight construction, the SUV can definitely do some moves in extreme conditions. Here is an instance that shows the Maruti Suzuki Jimny rescuing the Mahindra Thar in the sand dunes.

The video shows Mahindra Thar royally stuck on the top of the dune. The Mahindra SUV cannot move due to its weight. The wheels of the Thar are moving as the vehicle is stuck at one spot. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny, on the other hand, is moving freely through the dunes and can be spotted enjoying the challenge. It comes to the rescue of the Mahindra Thar.

The Jimny gave a tow to the Mahindra Thar and after a couple of attempts, it set the Thar free from the sand. Later, both the vehicles were spotted going up and down the dunes.

Jimny climbs up the dune while Thar fails

The same video also shows Maruti Suzuki Jimny successfuly climbing a steep sand dune while Mahindra Thar fails to do the same. The Thar makes multiple attempts to try and climb the sand dune but fails repeatedly. The Jimny then comes to the picture and climbs to the top of the dune without any hiccup.

While we are not sure about the exact engine and transmission configuration of teh Mahindra Thar due to numerous choices available in the market. The Thar is even available in 4X2 variants to extract maximum number of customers from the market. The Jimny, however, is only available with a single petrol engine option with both manual and automatic transmisison options.

There can be various different circumstances causing the Mahindra Thar to fail and Maruti Suzuki Jimny to excel in the dunes. It includes the tyres in both the vehicles. We are not sure if both the cars have stock tyres or have aftermarket set-ups. The alloy wheels on the Thar are definately aftermarket.

The Jimny is also lighter than the Thar, which greatly affects its off-roading capabilities. In extreme off-roading situations, the lighter vehicle always has an advantage over the heavier ones.

Both Mahinra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny greatly differ in the way they behave on and off the road. It totally depends on the customer on which vehicle they choose depending their requirement.
