Maruti Suzuki Jimny with 5 accessories officially revealed

The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has already created ripples across the country with its lifestyle off-roader, Jimny, even before its official launch. The model has received an overwhelming response, and the queues have already stretched quite a bit. To make its awaiting customers even more excited, the company has now announced that it will offer five additional accessories for its off-roader, Jimny, to help customers personalize and enhance its utility.

The first accessory offered by Maruti Suzuki for the Jimny will be the roof rails. Since the Jimny from the factory does not come with pre-installed roof rails, interested customers can buy these roof rails as an optional extra to enhance the look of the SUV and attach additional storage racks. These roof rails can also be used to attach a camping roof tent to the car.

Next on the list of accessories is the tailgate-mounted spare wheel cover. Cost-cutting is the name of the game, and hence companies try to save money wherever they can. Therefore, the company will offer the cover for an additional cost and it will not be included from the factory. The spare wheel cover will be made of plastic and will protect the additional wheel from weathering.

Maruti will also offer additional side claddings for the Jimny in its accessories pack. This protective addition will help off-roading enthusiast owners protect their cars from dents and scratches. These additional side claddings will not only enhance the appearance of their Jimnys but also protect them during the exploration of uncharted terrains.

Additionally, the company will offer some cosmetic upgrades with its accessories, such as sporty decals, chrome accents for the grille, fog lamp housing, door handles, and tail lamp clusters. While these accessories may not enhance the SUV’s off-road capabilities, they will help the car stand out from the crowd and make it look more appealing.

In other Jimny news, Maruti Suzuki recently confirmed that it has received 24,500 bookings for the new Jimny, leading to an estimated waiting period of six to eight months, depending on the variant. According to dealer outlets, the most popular color choices for the new Jimny are Kinetic Yellow, Pearl Arctic White, and Bluish Black.

The new Jimny will feature Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system as a standard feature and will be offered in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. Once launched, it will compete with the Mahindra Thar in the Indian market. The new five-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny will have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K15B petrol engine, producing a maximum power output of 105 PS and a maximum torque output of 138 Nm. The engine will come with two transmission choices: a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. The India-spec Jimny will come with Suzuki’s famed AllGrip four-wheel-drive system, which includes a manual transfer case and low-range gearbox.

While prices have yet to be announced, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be priced between Rs 10-14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and will be a more compact and affordable alternative to off-roaders like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
