Maruti Suzuki’s Hyundai Creta rival: What the A-Cross compact SUV could look like

Suzuki and Toyota have already got into a partnership and we have also seen the launch of first product Toyota Glanza, which is a rebadged version of Maruti Baleno. Toyota is now all set to launch the next product which is a rebadged version of Maruti Vitara Brezza which will be sold by the name Urban Cruiser. Both manufacturers will be sharing products and technologies under this partnership and the next product to come out from this partnership is likely to be a mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki. Here we have a render image that shows how the mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki could look like. The new SUV could be named the A-Cross.

The renders have been created by Kleber Silva and he has named this new SUV as B-Cross, probably as a hint at the SUV’s positioning. The SUV seen in the render images is heavily inspired by Toyota Raize which is a sub-4 meter compact SUV. It is based on Toyota’s DNGA platform and is already sold in Japan and other South Asian markets. Maruti’s version of Raize is expected to be a bit more longer as they already have Vitara Brezza in the sub-4 meter segment. The upcoming mid-size SUV will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster in the segment.

The SUV seen in the images get a Toyota signature split grille but, instead of Toyota badge, we have Suzuki badge here. The headlights have been redesigned in the Suzuki version. It looks identical to the Raize SUV with LED DRLs, fog lamps and front parking sensors all placed on the exact same place as Raize.

The side profile of the car is not any different. It gets a dual tone treatment and the sporty looking dual tone alloy wheels have Suzuki logo in the centre. The roof of the B-Cross even has a spoiler that is an extended part of the roof itself. Moving to the rear, the design remains identical and it has a muscular looking bumper at the rear. The bumper houses reflectors, parking sensors and the tail lamps are all LED. The split LED lamps are connected with a chrome strip with Suzuki logo in the middle.

Toyota Raize is powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and there is a possibility that the Maruti version might also be using the same set of engine. A diesel version is unlikely to be launched as Maruti Suzuki is noe concentrating more on petrol CNG fuel options.
