The Maruti Suzuki Ritz has achieved a sales milestone of selling more than 2 lakh units within 36 months of the launch. The Ritz is one of the fastest Maruti Suzuki models to cross the 2 lakh sales milestone. It has to be noted that the Swift, which is positioned in the same segment like the Ritz, crossed the 2 lakh sales in a short period as well.

Sales of the Ritz stood at 64,000 units in the domestic market during 2011 – 2012. In the last four months alone (Jan – April 2012), the company sold 23,280 units at an average of 5,820 units per month. Besides selling it in the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki also exports Ritz to South East Asia and other neighboring countries. In fact, since 2009, the company has exported 8,000 units of Ritz.
“Launched in 2009, Ritz has indeed played a wonderful inning so far. Ritz owners also, have always appreciated its driving comfort,” Shashank Srivastva, Chief GM (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki, was quoted as saying by a news agency.
The Ritz is compact in dimensions than the Swift and hence, it is a practical choice for urban small family buyers. Besides, the fact that the Ritz is cheaper (Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 50,000) than the Swift makes it more VFM than the Swift. Maruti Suzuki will soon be launching a facelift version of the Ritz. The new Ritz will have a redesigned front grille, rear bumper and a few other cosmetic changes. Read more: Maruti Suzuki Ritz spotted without camouflage
