Maruti Suzuki S-Presso launched in India: Prices start from Rs 3.69 lakhs

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has launched the S-Presso officially in India. The all-new, entry-level car will be sold through the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership network of the brand. The all-new S-Presso is the production version of the Maruti Suzuki Future-S Concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is available in four trims and the price of the base model is Rs 3.69 lakhs.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been designed to target the young buyers. With the rising demand of the SUVs in India, most of the market is inclined towards the SUV design cars. This is Maruti Suzuki’s second such SUV-inspired car in the Indian market. Earlier, Maruti Suzuki launched the Ignis, which also gets a crossover design but it is sold through the Nexa dealership network, which has a limited reach in the Indian market when compared to the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership network. The S-Presso looks quite funky and the design is heavily inspired by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

The top-end version gets a sleek chrome grille with wrap-around headlamps that look quite funky on the car. The bumper is, however, available only in black colour, even in the top-end version. This has been done to add a muscular look to the car.  it also gets sleek fog lamps positioned in the bumper. Even the top-end version of the car gets wheel covers and there are no alloy wheels. The high-end variants get the 14-inch wheels while the lower variants come with 13-inch wheels. At the rear, the all-new S-Presso gets black bumper at the rear.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the most-affordable car based on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform. Also, this the first car that is powered by the BS6 compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine that powers the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 in the Indian market. The engine generates a maximum power of 67 Bhp and peak power and 90 Nm of peak torque. It gets both manual and AMT automatic transmission. With both the transmission types, it returns a high fuel efficiency of 21.7 km/l according to the ARAI certificate.

The cabin of the Maruti Suzuki S-Pressso looks quite youthful and gets contrasting highlights all over. It gets a circular element on the dashboard that looks quite good. The S-Presso also gets an all-digital instrument cluster which is positioned in the middle of the dashboard. Feature-wise, the S-Presso comes with SmartPlay Studio system, dual airbags, seatbelt reminder, pre-tensioner, rear parking sensors, speed sensing alerts and ABS+EBD.
