Maruti Suzuki is working on the all-new product, the S-Presso, which will be the production version of the Future-S Concept. The name of the upcoming car was leaked sometime back and the car has been spotted testing on the Indian roads too. The heavily camouflaged version of the S-Presso is currently on its final stages to enter the production. It’ll be launched on the 30th of September, 2019. Maruti Suzuki has started the process of marketing and giving briefs to the various agencies. This leaked brief comes from T-BHP thread and it reveals more details about the upcoming car.
To hide the name of the car, the document uses the name “Echo”. It is a common practice to hide the real name. As per the marketing brief, the Echo will be aimed at the youngsters and will have an urban appeal to it. It will get an SUV-inspired bold front-end, which look intimidating on the roads. Also, the S-Preso will get a dynamic central control, commanding high seating position, best-in-class ground clearance, enhanced 10 plus safety features and large cabin space. The Echo will be positioned against the likes of Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid in the Indian market according to the information revealed.
The S-Presso or the Echo, which is used as a dummy name for the car will be sold through the Arena dealership network of the brand. It will be aimed at young professionals, college-going students and people who are looking to buy a stylish car as their first vehicle. The vehicle will get sculpted wheel arches and the design will be to entice the youngsters.
From the spy pictures of the car, it looks like that the S-Presso will get a tall boy design. Since the WagonR attracts a lot of family car buyers, the S-Presso will target the young generation, who look for better style and road-presence rather than the cabin space. Nonetheless, the S-Presso is likely to offer features like all body cladding and 15-inch alloy wheels, which will make it look stylish and add a rugged look to the car. At the front, it will get LED daytime running lamps too. On the inside, it is expected to get a floating-type touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will be a Suzuki Smart Play system too.
The safety net of the car will consist of dual airbags, ABS+EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alerts, seatbelts and more. The engine details of the S-Presso are not known. However, it is likely to get two petrol engine options, which will be similar to the Maruti Suzuki WagonR. There will be a 1.0-litre petrol engine while a more powerful version with 1.2-litre petrol engine.
