The Super Carry – Maruti Suzuki Commercial’s first mini truck in India – has been a tremendous hit right from launch. The Super Carry operates in the hugely competitive commercial vehicle segment, and has found happy buyers across the length and breadth of India. Mr. Singh, a transporter in the city of Bhatinda for the past 15 years, explains how the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry helped transform not just his business but also his lifestyle. Mr. Singh is particularly impressed with the spacious loading bay of the Super Carry, which accommodates a wide variety of goods – ranging from household essentials to consumer durables such as fridges and televisions.

The high payload of 740 kilograms, excellent fuel efficiency and good pick up allows the Super Carry to effortlessly transport more goods, translating into higher profits per trip. In fact. Mr Singh, who had one Maruti Suzuki Super Carry, now has four Super Carry mini trucks. He says that this fleet expansion has dramatically improved his business, and lifestyle. Mr. Singh, who used to live in a rented accommodation, has now bought a house of his own, and credits the Super Carry for the improvement in his lifestyle.

The Maruti Suzuki Super Carry sold in India is powered by a 1,196cc-4-cylinder engine that is compliant with BS6 emission norms. The engine is offered with petrol and CNG fuel options. Peak power is rated at 72 Bhp while peak torque is rated at 98 Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox drives the rear wheels. Braking is handled by disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels. Prices of the Super Carry start from Rs. 4.35 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, and the mini truck is available in two body options: pick-up truck and cab chassis.
