Snapshot: A Bangalore-based Maruti Suzuki dealer, Kalyani Motors, has accessorized the Swift hatchback. The Platinum Edition of the Swift adds 1.46 lakh rupees to the on road price of the B+ segment hatchback.
India’s top selling B+ segment hatchback, the Maruti Suzuki Swift, has had its fair share of dealer accessory fitments. From the Swift monogram at the rear split to S-W-I-F-T to shoehorning VDi and ZDi features to LDi variants, Maruti Suzuki dealers have been constantly experimenting with the Swift. The car’s under the scalpel yet again and this time, Kalyani Motors, a Bangalore-based Maruti Suzuki dealer has outfitted the car with a bunch of accessories.
Dubbed the “Platinum Edition”, the Swift loaded with the dealer fitted accessories features the following changes:
- Silver painted grille and air dam
- Revised head lamps with smoked finish and projectors
- Revised tail lamps with smoked finish and LEDs
- Blacked out wing mirror housings
- LED daytime running lamps
- Front and rear bumper spoilers
- Side skirts
- Roof mounted spoiler
- Black wrap for the roof
- Body decals on the flanks
- Gun metal alloy wheels
- Artificial leather seat covers
- Alpine-branded stereo system
- Amplifier and 4 Sony speakers
The “Platinum Edition” accessory pack can be added to any variant of the Swift hatchback, in both petrol and diesel guises. The accessory pack is priced at 1.46 lakh rupees, over and above the on-road price of the Swift hatchback’s various variants. Mechanically, and in terms of safety features and creature comforts, the Platinum Edition version of the Swift remains unchanged.
The petrol variants continue to be powered by the 1.2 liter, 86 PS-114 Nm K-Series motor while the diesel variants are powered by the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel motor that outputs 75 PS-190 Nm. Both engines are offered with a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard. The Swift’s top end ZXi and ZDi variants get twin airbags and ABS+EBD as standard safety features.
