Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition launched with LEGAL modification kit

One of India’s best selling cars – the Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback – has just received a Limited Edition modification kit for this festive season. The Limited Edition Swift costs Rs. 24,990 more than the regular variants. This also means that the Limited Edition kit can be fitted to all variants of the car, giving buyers additional choice. The best part? The accessory/modification kit is launched by the car maker, which means you get to keep warranty intact while also not falling foul of the law. Prices of the 3rd generation Maruti Swift start from Rs. 5.19 lakh, ex-showroom India. The car is currently selling at a discount of Rs. 40,000, which includes a 15,000 rupee cash discount, Rs. 5,000 corporate bonus and an exchange offer of Rs. 20,000.

Coming back to the Limited Edition accessory kit for the Maruti Swift, it consists of a black body kit, a bootlid spoiler, side body moulding and door visor, blacked out front grille, tail lamps and fog lights, all-black seat covers and a flat bottomed steering wheel. These accessories are meant to make the Swift look sportier, and appeal to younger buyers.  The Swift was India’s best selling car last month, clocking over 22,000 units. Maruti Suzuki hopes to ride on the sales momentum with the Limited Edition model.

Commenting on the introduction of the Swift Limited Edition, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, had this to say,

Maruti Suzuki Swift has been a preferred choice amongst the youth for over a decade now for being a sporty, stylish and fun to drive car. Since launch, with its disruptive looks and peppy performance, Swift has been one of the best performers in our portfolio and helped us strengthen leadership in the premium hatchback segment. Over the 3 generations Swift has evolved in features, looks and technology, often defining the changes in aspiration and preferences of Indian car customers. Today, we are happy to announce the launch of the bolder and sportier Swift Limited Edition to add a boost of excitement amidst such unprecedented times. For all Swift enthusiasts and fans this Limited Edition offers a new way to reflect their personality in a stylish, sporty and young way.

The Maruti Swift is sold in 8 variants, and is offered with a single engine option: a 1.2 liter-4 cylinder naturally aspirated K-Series petrol. This motor makes 82 Bhp-113 Nm, and is known for its impeccable refinement, rev happy nature, smooth power delivery, bomb proof reliability and excellent fuel efficiency. There are two gearbox options on offer with the petrol Swift: a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed automated manual (AMT).

ARAI certified mileage for the Swift Petrol is 21.21 Kmpl for both manual and AMT trims. Maruti no longer offers a diesel engine on the Swift, which did get this option until the end of last year. A CNG-petrol dual fuel variant of the Swift is expected to be launched sometime next year, in cities where CNG dispensing infrastructure is well developed. The Swift Petrol is also expected to get a mild hybrid powertrain shortly. Such an option is already offered on the Baleno hatchback. Competitors to the Maruti Swift include the Ford Figo and the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
