Cars have gotten a lot more expensive over the years in India, as well as in other countries in the world. This inflation has made a lot of people choose to restore their old cars instead of spending a huge sum on brand-new automobiles. Recently, in a similar example, a video showing the complete restoration of a second-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has been shared online. This particular Swift was fully repainted on the outside with the factory dual-tone specification. It was also given a completely new custom interior as well.
The video of this particular Maruti Suzuki Swift has been shared on YouTube by Autorounders on their channel. Over the last few months, we have shared a ton of restoration and conversion projects from this popular shop in the country. They have shops in Pune, Mumbai, and Hyderabad and share content about the restoration and conversions of popular Indian cars. Most recently, they shared this video of the restoration of a second-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift in dual-tone color.
In this particular video, the owner of the car is shown at the beginning where he mentions that people watch Autorounders’ videos in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other Middle Eastern countries. He added that he himself is from Saudi Arabia and came after watching other videos of Autorounders. After the presenter and the owner of Autorounders discuss the job to be done on the customer’s Maruti Suzuki Swift, he then goes outside and takes a look at the car and suggests to the owner what can be done with this car.

After some observation, the owner of the shop tells the owner of the car that they will be restoring the car to its factory specifications of dual-tone white and red combination. He added that the only difference will be the shades of colors. He added that they will be using flat white and red colors for this car. These colors will not have any sparkles in them. He added that the white color will be from the factory, and the red color will be from Audi, and its official name is Tango Red.
The video then shows the before shots of this car, and it can be noticed that the car is not in that rough of a shape. From this, we can understand that if a car is not in that bad condition, it makes a lot more financial sense to get it restored rather than selling it off at a very low price and acquiring a brand new car. After the shots, the car is then shown in the workshop getting disassembled by the technicians. They completely strip off the car and start the bodywork to remove dents from the car. After the dent removal part, the car gets coated in glazing putty, and it is then sanded down to make it look smooth.
Following the smoothing part of the putty, the car gets a complete spray of white primer before it goes into the paint booth. After entering the paint booth, the expert painter first paints the rear spoiler, roof, and pillars of the car in Audi’s Tango Red color. Next up, he masks off the red color and applies the flat white paint on the car. Lastly, after the paint gets dried off, he sprays the final clear coat to give the car its shine.
Moving on in the video, before the final assembly, the car’s seats are shown getting fitted with custom upholstered black and red leather seat covers. After this, the car is shown fully assembled, and the owner of the shop shows the car to the customer. They then discuss the things they like about this project.
Next, the owner of the shop explains all the work done to the car. He starts off with the exterior of the car and mentions that whenever they paint a car to make it look sporty, they use flat colors. He adds that in this case, they have used a simple milky white color and Audi’s Tango Red color, which has been sprayed on the roof, spoilers, skirts, and front and rear splitters. Next up, he adds that they have custom upholstered the interior of this car.
He states that the seats have been finished in the black and red color combination, and it looks a lot more sporty. He then adds that they have also added custom designs on the seat covers, and they are unique to this car. Moving on, he shows the client the custom black leather headliner with two red stripes. Lastly, he adds that they have also added red tint to the carbon fiber which they have added around window controls and the top portion of the steering wheel. The owner of the car can be seen appreciating the work done on his car.
