Snapshot: Apart from the Swift Sport hot hatchback, Maruti Suzuki showcased a custom kit for the Swift at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Dubbed the Swift Volt, the custom kit equipped car retained the engines and transmissions of the current-gen Swift but featured new body work, accessories and styling bits. Reportedly, the Swift Volt custom kit is now available in Delhi at a price of 2.15 lakh rupees.
The kit can be fitted to the second generation Maruti Swift B+ segment hatchback.Although Maruti Suzuki showcased the petrol engined Swift equipped with the Volt custom kit at the Auto Expo, Maruti dealers are said to be outfitting the Volt custom kit to the diesel versions of the Swift too. Apparently, the factory warranty of the Swift fitted with the Volt custom kit is retained as it is. Also, the Volt kit is said to be designed for the VXi and VDi variants of the hatchback.
Meanwhile, here’s the list of changes on the Swift equipped with the Volt custom kit:
- Projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps
- LED fog lamps
- New front bumper and side skirts
- Revised grille with red inserts
- Bonnet decals
- Matt black wrap on tail gate
- Red contrast roof
- Blacked out alloy wheels with a revised design
- LED tail lamps
- Dual tone red-black interiors
- Chrome highlights on door handles, gear lever housing and center console
- New gear knob
Mechanically, the Swift outfitted with the Volt Custom Kit remains undisturbed. The petrol powered Swift variants retain the 1.2 liter K-Series motor that outputs 86 Bhp-112 Nm while the diesel powered variants make do with the 1.3 liter fiat Multijet turbo diesel motor that outputs 75 Bhp-190 Nm. Both engines use a 5 speed manual gearbox to relay torque to the front wheels of the car. The Swift is available in 6 variants, 3 in petrol (LXi, VXi and ZXi) and 3 in diesel (LDi, VDi and ZDi). Top end variants of the Swift are equipped with twin airbags, ABS and EBD.
