Maruti Suzuki recently launched a subscription service for their vehicles. Now, they are evaluating options to offer used cars under the subscription service. This will help in expanding its portfolio that is available under Maruti Suzuki Subscribe. The manufacturer currently offers Vitara Brezza, Swift, XL6, Dzire, Ertiga, Ciaz and Baleno through the subscription program. Vehicles like S-Cross, Ignis and Wagon R are the recent ones to join the leasing program’s line-up. Maruti Suzuki is also planning to increase the reach of the subscription program to six more cities. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki’s subscription plans are available in eight cities, namely Gurugram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Pune.
Offering pre-owned cars through the subscription service makes sense because it will drop the subscription cost even further. So for instance, if someone wants to opt for a Ciaz but cannot afford the subscription amount then he can go for the pre-owned one whose subscription amount should be less than the new one. One other example can be you can get either a new small car for the subscription amount or you can pay a little bit extra and opt for the bigger and more premium vehicle. Shashank Srivastava, ED – marketing and sales of Maruti Suzuki told Autocar Professional “If the current trends of this asset light ownership sales model continue Subscription can contribute significantly to sales,”.
The subscription service was first launched in September of 2020. The service scheme is associated with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services India. The subscription plan of Maruti Suzuki offers flexibility while taking the vehicle. You can get a flexible tenure, the line-up of Maruti Suzuki is quite long, so you can choose among a lot of cars and then you can also opt for the type of number plate. So, you can get a white plate or a black plate depending on what use you are buying the vehicle. Then there is the convenience, all the expenses are included in the fixed monthly fee that you would need to pay. So, there is no maintenance cost, no insurance cost and you do not even have to pay the down payment while subscribing the vehicle. Additionally, you can just return the vehicle after using it so you do not have to worry about the depreciation that affects the car while reselling it. Maruti Suzuki is also offering 24×7 on-road assistance which gives peace of mind to the buyer that even if the vehicle breaks down, the assistance team would be able to help him out. You can also extend the subscription, upgrade or even buy the car that you opted for at the market price once the subscription tenure is completed.
The WagonR is currently the most affordable vehicle that you can subscribe to. The monthly subscription fee starts from just Rs. 12,722 for the base Lxi variant. The most affordable Nexa product through the subscription service is the Ignis which starts from Rs. 13,772 for the Sigma variant and for the tenure of 48 months. These prices are for the Delhi state and the priced do vary depending through which state you subscribe to the vehicle.
