The facelifted version of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, one of the much-awaited vehicles will be launched in India on February 6. The updated Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo. It will be a facelifted version of the car but it will get a new engine.
Maruti Suzuki will offer a slew of updates on the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza but the most highlighted updated on the car is the new 1.5-litre petrol engine. Since Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will not offer the diesel engines with any of its model in the Indian market after the BS6 emission norms are implemented on 1st April 2020, the petrol variant of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza became an anticipated vehicle.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is available only with a 1.3-litre diesel engine option right now. However, since the diesel engine option will be phased out from the Maruti Suzuki line-up, the facelifted version of the sub-4m compact SUV will be available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that also powers the Ciaz and the Ertiga in the market. Maruti Suzuki currently offers an AMT automatic transmission with the diesel engine option but with the new petrol engine, a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be available along with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The facelifted version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be available with an SHVS mild-hybrid system that will increase the fuel efficiency. This will be available only with the automatic variants of the upcoming Vitara Brezza.
The facelifted version of the sub-4m compact SUV will be launched with a new face. It will get a new grille, new bumper, new fog lamps, and new elements in the headlamps. The upcoming car will also get new alloy wheels and new LED tail lamps. There will be a slew of changes and new features available with the facelifted version of the car too. At the rear, the Vitara Brezza will also get an updated LED tail lamp but it is likely to be available with the top-end version only.
Since it will be BS6 compliant version, the price of the petrol variants of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be similar to the diesel variants of the Brezza. Also, the use of the 1.5-litre engine will void all the tax benefits on the car.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is the best-selling sub-4m compact SUV available in the Indian market and it competes with the likes of Hyundai Venue and Ford EcoSport. With the arrival of the new model, we may get to see the competition becoming stiffer in the segment.
