Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza – This is IT!

Images of the Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki’s first sub-4 meter SUV offering for the Indian market, have leaked onto the interweb. The vehicle will be sold as a diesel-only option, in line with Maruti’s strategy for the S-Cross. The 1.3 liter Multijet turbo diesel engine, in 89 Bhp-200 Nm state of tune, is expected to power this SUV, which is likely to start from under 7 lakh rupees. Barring the pricing, which will be revealed on the day of the launch, almost everything else about this SUV is now known courtesy a series of leaks. The SUV will be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.

6 variants will be on offer, with a driver side airbag standard even on the base variant. The Vitara Brezza’s variant details: LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi(O), ZDi and ZDi+. Maruti will give buyers the option of adding ABS+EBD and a passenger airbag to the LDi and VDi (O for option) packs. All variants will feature air conditioning, power steering with tilt function, body cladding and a Bluetooth equipped music system as standard fare.

The LDi trim will feature,

15-inch steel wheels, front power windows, parcel tray, manual day/night IRVM, speed sensitive door locks and a driver foot rest. The LDi (O) variant will add front seat belt pretensioners, a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.

The VDi variant will add,

Skid plates at the front and rear, contrast roof and contrast finish for A,B and C pillars, body coloured door handles, keyless entry, gear shift indicator, rear power windows, passenger vanity mirror, rear head rests and an electromagnetic tail gate. The VDi (O) variant will add front seat belt pretensioners, a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.

The ZDi variant will add,

Front seat belt pretensioners, a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD as standard, 215/60 tyres on 16 inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, front fog lamps, chrome front grille, roof rails, Automatic climate control, piano black finish for center console, 60:40 split rear seats, height adjustable driver’s seat, steering wheel with audio controls and wash wipe function for the rear windscreen.

The ZDi+ variant will add,

A dual tone paint job, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, electric wing mirrors with fold function, keyless entry and push button start, reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment interface with CarPlay and Navigation, cooled glovebox, cruise control and height adjustable front seatbelts.
