Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s six-seater version, the XL6 has been finally launched in the Indian market. The premium MPV is priced at Rs 9.72 lakh, ex-showroom, which is Rs 2.17 lakh higher than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s base model is priced at Rs 7.55 lakh, ex-showroom while the top-end petrol version gets a price tag of Rs 10.06 lakh. The Toyota Innova Crysta range starts at Rs 14.93 lakh, ex-showroom. The top-end variant of the XL6 is priced at Rs 11.46 lakh, ex-showroom.

The new XL6 looks completely different from the Ertiga from the front-end. It will be targetted at the premium customers looking for a sporty MPV and will be sold through the Nexa network of the brand. It should be noted that the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is sold through the Arena network of the brand.
The new XL6 gets a new grille with a slat of chrome running across. It offers minimal chrome that makes it look sportier when compared to the Ertiga. Also, the XL6 gets a different set of headlamps, which are shaped in a different and much aggressive way. The headlamps get full-LED set-up, which will be much brighter than the Ertiga’s halogen set-up. The XL6 also offers a different set of bumpers and there are silver skid plates too. To add a rugged look to the MPV, the vehicle gets a thick black cladding all around. This adds a crossover look to the XL6.
The new MPV, which is also the first 6-seater vehicle to be sold through the Nexa network offers all-black 15-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, apart from the bumper and the skid plate, everything else remains the same.
The main highlight of the XL6 is the cabin. The car gets an all-black interior and the top-end trim also offers leather upholstery, which makes the cabin extremely premium. Even the dashboard has been updated to the black theme and there is piano black finish around the infotainment system. The faux wooden inserts of the dashboard have been updated to offer a darker theme. Also, the middle row seats are now captain seats, which slid and reclined as per convenience.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be offered only in two variants and even the base version of the car is loaded to the brim.The entry-level Zeta variant offers features like LED fog lamps, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and LED DRL. The version also gets keyless entry with start/stop button, power socket in three rows, power-folding ORVMs, turn indicator integrated to the ORVM, 7.0-inch Smart Play infotainment system with voice commands, steering mounted control, driver seat height adjuster, cruise control, automatic climate control and more. The top-end version gets leather seats with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, follow-me-home headlamps and rear parking camera.
Safety-wise, both the variants offer dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, electronic stability program, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, seatbelt height adjuster, ISOFIX child seat mounts, central locking and speed alerts.
Maruti Suzuki only offers the 1.5-litre petrol engine option with the XL6. It generates a maximum power of 105 Bhp and peak torque of 138 Nm. The engine gets mild-hybrid SHVS system. The manual transmission version offers maximum fuel efficiency of 19.01 km/l while the 4-speed automatic version returns a maximum of 17.99 km/l according to ARAI. The bookings are already open at a payment of Rs 11,000.
