Maruti Suzuki’s 3 all-new cars for India launching in 2018 revealed

Maruti Suzuki will launch 3 all-new cars in the Indian market during 2018. All these cars will be full-model changes. The year will begin with the new Maruti Swift, and will be followed by the all-new WagonR, and then the all-new Ertiga MPV. All three cars have been major sellers for Maruti and are huge brands by themselves in the Indian market. The new versions of these cars are also expected to be great sellers.

The 2018 Swift will be based on the HEARTECT platform that it shares with the Maruti Baleno and Dzire. This platform uses light weight, high tensile steel to make the monocoque body stronger but lighter. The car will continue with the older model’s petrol and diesel engine, and manual gearboxes but the new model will offer AMT options on both the petrol and diesel engines. The all-new Swift is expected to carry a starting price tag of Rs. 5 lakhs, and will be shown at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo.

All-new WagonR

Maruti is expected to give the WagonR a full-model change next year. The new model will feature stylistic changes to look new, but will retain the tall-boy form factor. The same 1 liter K-Series petrol engine that’s found on the current model is expected to be carried over to the new model, with 5 speed manual and AMT options. Both LPG and CNG fuel options may be offered in the Duo dual-fuel variants. The new WagonR is expected to be launched by the end of 2018.

All-new Ertiga

The new Ertiga will share the HEARTECT platform with the new Swift, along with the front end styling. The 7 seat MPV has already started testing in India. It is expected to be slightly larger and roomier than the outgoing model. It is also expected to debut 2 new engines. The petrol engine will be a 1.5 liter M15A unit with about 107 Bhp-140 Nm and the diesel engine will be an all-new 1.4 liter turbocharged unit developed by Suzuki. Manual and AMT options are likely on the new Ertiga Petrol and Diesel models.
