Waiting periods of B-Segment hatchbacks: Maruti Swift has the longest & Hyundai Grand i10 has the shortest

Maruti Suzuki Swift, the best-selling vehicle in the segment and one of the best-selling vehicles in the market has a waiting period of 45 days in Pune while in Delhi-NCR, it is close to a month. Compared to the rivals like the Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle and Hyundai Grand i10 there is no waiting period in New Delhi region and everywhere else, the waiting period is much lower than the Maruti Suzuki Swift.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift gets the maximum waiting period of 45 days in Pune while there is no waiting period on the car in Surat. In other parts of the country like Chandigarh, buyers will have to wait for seven days while customers in Patna will have to wait for 15 days.

While Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo and Freestyle are available at a lower waiting period compared to Swift. The car is available in Bangalore with a waiting period of 45 days while the buyers in Delhi, Gurugram, Lucknow, Faridabad and Indore can get their vehicles on the same day when they choose the Figo or Freestyle.

The Hyundai Grand i10, which is the second-best selling vehicle in the segment has the lowest waiting period of all. It is readily available in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Coimbatore and Indore. The longest waiting on the car is in Chandigarh where the customers will have to wait for a month to get their hands on the car after booking it.

It should be noted that all the four cars – Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Swift are available with both petrol and diesel engine options in the Indian market. The Maruti Swift is available with AMT automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel variants. While the Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo offer an automatic only with the petrol version. The Ford Freestyle does not get an automatic at all.
